American Aviator is a wrist watch that has a design and precision similar to the watches worn by American military personnel during the Second World War. The watch shows perfect time, and is never out of sync. It has an easy to read display, and is very durable.

Features

  • Time
  • The most important feature of this watch, as mentioned in the infomercial, is that it is extremely precise and shows exact time, not only in minutes, but also in seconds. This watch is designed with perfect mechanism, just like those worn by army men, who needed to plan their attacks with accurate and perfect timing.

  • Design
  • American Aviator watch is styled based on the watches worn by World War II American soldiers. It has a nylon strap and a display that is similar to those of original watches, which are now expensive collector’s items.

  • Wide Display
  • The display of this watch is wide, making it easy to tell the time. Even people who are nearsighted can read the time easily.

  • Glow In The Dark
  • One great feature of this watch is that it has glow-in-the-dark numbers and needles. Therefore, you can tell the time with this watch, even at night, or in the dark.

  • Durability
  • This watch is very durable and resistant to wear and tear. It is also water resistant.

  • Individually Numbered
  • Each watch is individually numbered. It also comes in a display case and the package includes a World War II booklet.

Negative Aspects

  • Water Resistance
  • The watch is water resistant, but it is not water proof. This means, while it will not be damaged if it gets wet when you wash your hands, there is no guarantee that it not get harmed if you go swimming in deep waters.

  • Simple Design
  • The design of the watch is very simple. It is a good buy for World War II enthusiasts, but for other people, it has no particular attraction.

  • No Special Features
  • This watch has no particular features that make it unique, other than the fact that it resembles the original Aviator watches worn by military men.

  • No Warranty
  • The watch is said to be very durable and resistant to the elements. However, no particular warranty is provided by the manufacturer.

How it's Different from Competitors

As compared to the real collector’s watch which was worn by military men in Word War II, this watch costs a lot less. It has similar, though not exactly the same design. If you are a World War enthusiast, or simply want to show your support for your military, you can buy this watch instead of the real one. However, do not expect to get something that looks and works exactly like the real one does.

While it is said that this watch has exact precision, it is not told what precision mechanism the watch uses. Therefore, you need to be careful before buying it.

Critical Advice

If you simply want a good looking watch that tells the right time, there are several in the market that you can get for a lot less. In that case, there is no need to go for this one. However, if you want a collector’s item, then this watch is for you. Keep in mind though, that no warranty means that the watch could stop working at any time and you cannot get it repaired or replaced for free.

Dropped it once, now it stops and starts as it pleases. No warranty and not shock resistant. Not recommended for daily use.
