Category: As Seen on TV

Hydro Mousse is a spray-on formula that allows you to create a liquid lawn full of grass seed that will turn into real grass. Due to the formula’s bright green color, you can see exactly where you’re planting the seeds. It’s ideal for touching up areas that are balding due to high traffic or frequent dog activity. Each kit contains enough Hydro Mousse to cover 50 square feet of grass.

How It Works

Hydro Mousse, which will shoot out of a spray nozzle attached to your garden hose, contains an environmentally friendly solution that allows grass seeds to stick to the soil. It also contains a conditioner that loosens any hard soil so it can more easily absorb water. Therefore, even in temperatures of extreme heat or cold, your grass will grow quickly and easily. Since the seeds easily lock into place, it will grow up a vertical wall if you wish, or even on an upside-down surface.

Uses

  1. Bald Spots
  2. You can simply spray Hydro Mousse on your lawn's bald spots, whether those are due to high foot traffic or frequent pet play, and new grass will grow.

  3. Large Areas
  4. It takes a lot of time and effort to seed large areas of grass the traditional way. Therefore, Hydro Mousse comes in handy when you need to cover a large area with grass.

  5. Shady Areas
  6. Sometimes traditional grass seed has difficulty growing in shady areas, due to a lack of sunlight, so Hydro Mousse is beneficial to use in those areas, too.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Prepare The Liquid
  2. Mix the ingredients of your Hydro Mousse kit as per the instructions.

  3. Attach To Hose
  4. Attach the cylindrical end of the spray nozzle to any garden hose, and turn the nozzle's dial to the 'seed' setting.

  5. Spray
  6. Start spraying your lawn wherever you desire.

  7. Detach
  8. Once you're finished with your Hydro Mousse for the time being, detach the nozzle from your garden hose and store the product for future use.

Positive Points

  • Contains Four Common Grasses
  • The Hydro Mousse mix contains four common types of grass seed: Kentucky blue, perennial rye, tall fescue, and fine fescue. Therefore, your new grass created with Hydro Mousse will blend in easily with your existing grass.

  • Easy To Use
  • Seeding with Hydro Mousse requires little physical effort in comparison with traditional methods. The process is actually similar to, and as simple as watering your lawn. Hydro Mousse's fast-growing nature also ensures that you won't have to wait long to have an attractive yard.

  • Inexpensive
  • According to the infomercial, using Hydro Mousse is less expensive than creating a nice-looking lawn using sod and traditional grass seed.

Concerns

  • Lack Of Ingredient Information
  • Although the types of grass seed Hydro Mousse contains are given, neither the website nor the infomercial explains what the eco-friendly sticking solution and the soil-loosening conditioner are made of.

How it's Different from Competitors

When you use traditionally applied grass seed, you often can’t see exactly where you’re planting the grass, regardless of whether you’re using your hands or a rolling spreader. Therefore, sometimes some areas of the lawn are left uncovered by accident. With Hydro Mousse, you are able to ensure that you’re spraying every single square inch that you need to. Furthermore, when you use traditional grass seeds, they often get washed away by rain, blown away by the wind, or eaten by birds before they start growing. These problems won’t be present with the Hydro Mousse seeding formula, as grass will sprout before creatures or weather can do any damage to the seeds.

Followed mixing instructions, but the spray was mostly clear which makes me believe seeds did not adhere to soil. Birds already pecking at the ground. I don't expect any success.

Save Your Money

John Moore | Shawnee, OK | 25 Apr 2015

Not only does it not work by just spraying it on the ground, it doesn't even work if you go thru the trouble of tilling the soil and covering the seeds and watering 3 times a day. I ended up buying a bag of seed at WalMart and now I have grass.

What a Waste of Money

John Moore | Powell , OH | 08 Oct 2014

Save your money. They make you think you don't have to do anything but spray the seed on the ground. Not only do you have to dig the soil 3 inches deep and water 3 times a day, but it still doesn't grow! If I'm going to till the soil and water 3 times a day, I will just go buy a bag of grass seed.

Don't Waste Your Money

Jessica Sage | Water Town , New York | 09 Aug 2014

Bought this product and regretted it. The "spray and stay" promise worked for a few seconds only. Planned to do 18 sq feet total and the seeds ran out quickly. Had to dig 3 inches deep to put in the seeds. Conditioning product was supposed to do the mulching but ended up doing it. Just wasted my time and money.

Crappy Product

Lucy Bradley | Durham, North Carolina | 07 Aug 2014

Wasted not just my money but my time, too. Everything said on tv were not true. If you want an even flow of grass, you can't rely on this. At best, it can only cover little bald spots.

It's so bad that a lot of informercials cannot be trusted. Thought what the ad said was true but they aren't. Learned my lesson now.

Wasted my money on this product. Followed the instructions but rain washed away all the seeds. Nothing stuck as the ad promised. Stay away from this. Don't waste your money.
