Squishy sand is sand for kids that can be played with indoors. Unlike regular sand that’ll just slip through your fingers, this sand actually sticks together, almost like clay. It’s safe for kids five years of age and up, and adults will enjoy playing with it too. It promotes creativity, getting everyone off the couch and being active with their hands.

Uses

  1. Forts And Castles
  2. When playing soldier games, kids can create awesome forts out of Squishy Sand, and can even make the soldiers out of the sand, too, if necessary. They can also make a castle for a king or queen. To make things easier, these kinds of structures can be made with molds purchased separately.

  3. Race Tracks
  4. With squishy sand, kids can create straight or circular race tracks to race toy cars along.

  5. Animals
  6. Squishy sand is perfect for sculpting animals, such as dolphins and alligators. You can display your animals on a flat surface, or even have them move around.

  7. Beaches
  8. Squishy sand can be used to create a beautiful beach, and you can use the kit's scratch knife to make attractive seashells with perfect lines.

  9. Pretend Food
  10. When you're playing pretend, and don't want to waste a whole bunch of real food, you can make any dish you want with squishy sand. Just remember not to actually eat it!

  11. Stacking
  12. Even if you're not making anything particular, it's fun to make squishy sand into squares or cylinders and stack your shapes on top of each other. You can see who can build the highest pile without it falling down. If you want to make perfect-looking shapes, invest in a few molds.

  13. Writing Notes
  14. Squishy sand can even make letters, if you wish to leave a note for a parent, sibling or friend in a creative way.

Positive Points

  • Easy To Use
  • Since squishy sand sticks together, it is much easier to make attractive things with it than with regular sand. To get regular sand to stick, you often need to use water, and sometimes your shapes and structures will still fall apart easily. However, no water is needed for effective sticking when you use squishy sand.

  • No Mess
  • Due to the sticky nature of the sand, no particles will dribble onto the floor, the table, or clothing. The sand will not stick to any of these things either—it only sticks to itself. To clean up, just wad the sand into a big ball, store it away, and you're done.

  • Non-toxic
  • While no one should voluntarily eat squishy sand, if some accidentally is ingested, it won't be harmful, since the sand is non-toxic.

  • Never Dries Out
  • No matter how long you have the squishy sand for, it will always stay squishy and sticky.

  • Makes A Good Gift
  • Virtually all kids will be delighted to receive the squishy sand as a gift on a birthday or another holiday. They can also make their friends smile by giving it to them at their birthday parties.

  • Comes With Supplies
  • The squishy sand comes with a small shovel, a roller, and a small scratch knife, all of which will assist you with creating great things.

Negative Points

  • Only One Color
  • The squishy sand only comes in a traditional sand color. It might be more fun for kids if the company was to dye it ( with non-toxic dye ) to add more color options.

Chemical Burn!!

Ivari Billings | Molalla, OR | 04 May 2015

It's a chemical burn from it got 2 eye drops some steroids and antihistamine! My daughter got a small amount in her eye while playing! The sand cause a chemical burn it will not let me post pics here but they are disturbing and she could loose her sight in her left eye! I plan on taking legal action against the company!

Good distraction

Nancy Burress | Danville, CA | 05 Jan 2015

Finally, my son found a toy that distracts him from computer games. He spends a lot of time with it. I just hope it won't bore him quickly.

Indoor sand

Mel Ashford | Edmond, OK | 04 Jan 2015

If you want to build sandcastles and there's no beach nearby, Squishy Sand is the next best thing. The great thing about it is you can play with it indoors without making a lot of mess.

It's one of them toys that kids would love at first, spend a lot of time on and eventually don't touch anymore.

Happy with it.

Jessie Waldron | Wagoner, OK | 31 Dec 2014

It's true that this sand doesn't dry up. My daughters have been playing with it for a long time now and it's still as good as when it arrived. The key is to keep it stored in an air tight container.

It's fun!

Tina Connell | Lafayette, LA | 29 Dec 2014

My sons have a lot of fun playing with it. It's a worry-free toy because it's non-toxic. It's mess-free too so I have no worried they'd get themselves dirty.
